The Last Poem

from The Last Poem by Ephemeral Ballads

/

lyrics

The gloomy midnight sky
That crashed down upon me
Has drenched my heart and soul in
a dark depravity

Among the stars and clouds
The moonlight thirsts for me
Devouring my delicate insanity

If I reach out, I won’t ascend to that
I yearn for
If I stay here, I’ll descend ‘to darkness
evermore
Can I assume the strength to break
the curse that I bear?
Can I accept the gifts that were
bestowed upon me?

I’ll build my castle where I stand
And let it crumble with its king
